[12:48:49] <MattBowen> aclark: the coolest thing was as I was driving, I heard the SMS chime, and so I hit the button and said "read me those texts," and she did, "then I said 'I want to reply'" and she took reasonably good dictation, read the message back to me, and sent it
[16:11:58] <jaraco1> I nabbed a 4S on Friday also. I was sad when I find I couldn't do voice dialing without an Internet connection... or when Siri was down on Saturday. And it used to be able to dial rapidly (1-2 seconds to recognize a name to dial), but with Siri, it takes 5-10 seconds, because all the processing happens server-side so you have to wait for the round-trip delay.
[16:12:44] <jaraco> But I have to say, Siri was one of the two features that convinced me to buy the phone. I've wanted text message dictation ever since I got a good headset.
[16:13:12] <jaraco> Now I can bicycle and not wonder what text just buzzed in my pocket.
[16:15:35] <jaraco> The other feature was the (theoretical) 2x data speed boost on AT&T.
